Tutorial Week – Bobble Stitch

Tuesday’s stitch is the bobble.

I already loved this stitch for blankets and Afghans and cannot wait to start one of my own but I have found so many more ideas since looking.

To create this stitch:

Chain stitch the length desired                                                                                               In the second chain from the hook we need to do a slightly different treble crochet stitch to do this we –                                                                                                                        *yarn over twice and insert hook in chain, yarn over and draw through chain stitch (4 loops on hook), yarn over and draw through the first 2 loops on hook (3 loops on hook), yarn over and draw through first 2 loops again (2 loops on hook)* repeat from * to * 3 more times in the same stitch, you should have 5 loops on the hook. Yarn over and pull through all 5 loops.                                                                                                                                       DC in the next stitch. Your 1st bobble is now complete (you will be looking at it from the back, turn over to see the raised bobble you just made) In the next stitch repeat from the * making sure you finish the stitch with a DC in the next stitch to the one you are working the bobble.                                                                                                                                Please note – for a tighter bobble you can replace the DC in the next stitch with a SC instead.

Free Bobble Stitch patterns:

BlanketBlanket – I love rainbow coloured blankets they are so beautiful, but coupled with the bobble stitch you get some great results

crochet-glasses-case3Sunglasses case – If I had a decent pair of sunnies that needed protection I would be making this right now, this is perfect gift for those summer birthday’s

crochet-bows1Bobble Bows – So adorable, that is all…

BeardsBeards – This is just hilarious, even the boyfriend has admitted he would wear one of these… crochet is all about fun and these scream fun

Once again I would love to see all your efforts
